About Me
Counsellor
Neurodivergence counsellor and coach – working in-person and online with adults and young people.
Helen Heather
I am Helen Heather, and I came to counselling after spending over twenty years teaching in secondary and primary schools. I have worked in a number of roles from pastoral to management and have always felt passionate about helping people to see and fulfil their potential.
I offer a mix of trauma-informed neuroaffirming therapy and coaching, depending on what you need and/or want from the sessions. Sometimes it can feel difficult to know what your goals are and that’s ok, we can figure it out together. I tailor the sessions to you, essentially learning to be your counsellor, rather than offering a ‘one size fits all’ approach. The mix of counselling and/or coaching will be entirely dependent on your life experiences, how they have affected you and the extent to which neurodivergence has played a role in this.
I work on a one-to-one basis with adults and young people from the age of 11, offering face-to-face, online and telephone counselling.
I work in a person centred way, which means that I see you as the person who knows yourself best and support you to know yourself better. This can create self-compassion and understanding of yourself and your needs, working through things from your past which might be holding you back in the present, and supporting you in moving forward with your life.
